Datuk Ir. John Yong Lock Ping is the visionary founder and driving force behind Lafrowda Properties Group. Armed with a Master in Civil Engineering (MEng) from the University of Exeter, UK, and an MBA from the University of South Australia, he brings a rare blend of technical mastery, strategic insight, and entrepreneurial leadership to the organisation. His professional credentials include being a Corporate Member of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), as well as a registered ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE).
A respected industry leader, Datuk Ir. John Yong serves as the Secretary-General of SHEDA (2024–2027) and has contributed to its Council since 2015, helping shape policies and best practices that elevate the real estate landscape in Sarawak and Malaysia.

With over two decades of hands-on experience in construction and property development, Datuk Ir. John Yong continues to anchor Lafrowda’s ethos of innovation, integrity, and long-term value creation. His career began with distinction when he became one of the youngest construction managers overseeing the KLIA Runway Extension Works in 2005, a landmark project that set the tone for his future achievements.
Today, he continues to champion engineering excellence through Worksmith Builder, a CIDB G7–registered construction company, ensuring every Lafrowda development is built on uncompromising quality and technical rigour.
